    Last updated: February 12, 2026

At ChargeMap, we take your privacy seriously. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service.

    1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. If you register as a charging network, we may also collect business information such as company name, contact details, and station locations.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you use ChargeMap, including pages visited, search queries, station views, and interaction patterns.

Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's location to show nearby charging stations. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.

Payment Information: When you purchase additional listings or featured placements, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details.

    2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide and improve ChargeMap, including displaying nearby charging stations, processing payments, personalizing your experience, sending service-related notifications, and preventing fraud.

We may also use aggregated, anonymized data for analytics and to improve our service. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

    3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate ChargeMap (such as hosting, payment processing, and analytics), when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of ChargeMap and its users.

If you register as a charging network, your station information (name, location, pricing) will be publicly visible on ChargeMap.

    4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

    5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. You can also request a copy of all data we hold about you.

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to restrict processing.

    6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how our service is used. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.

    7. Third-Party Services

ChargeMap integrates with third-party services including Stripe for payments, Leaflet/OpenStreetMap for mapping, and analytics providers. These services have their own privacy policies which we encourage you to review.

    8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of ChargeMap after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
